About The Organisation
The AIVuk was formed in February 2008, following the implementation of the Mental Capacity Act 2005. Its members are Independent Visitors from across England and Wales who pool their extensive knowledge and resources to provide expertise in working with older and disabled people, and others who may lack the capacity to manage their own lives.
All AIVuk members have up to date DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks and carry full professional indemnity insurance. They work to an Ethical Code with high standards of professionalism and commitment, encapsulated with the strap line "Safeguarding Best Interests". AIVuk members will guarantee to put the client at the heart of the process.
